The object of the Boys Brigade is the advancement of Christ's kingdom amongst boys through the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, self respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.
The 79th is a large Company of around 150 boys and officers drawing it's membership from all over East Belfast which has been in existance for some 46 years.
The Boys Brigade is still true to it's 'Sure and Stedfast' motto today as it brings the gospel message of hope to the young men in a society that seeks to undermine their role and identity.
The 79th meets on Thursday evenings with the Robins (Pre School and P1) and Anchor Boys (P2-P4) from 6.30pm until 7.30pm.
The Junior Section caters for boys in the P5-P7 age group and meets from 7.15pm until 8.45pm.
The Company Section meets from 7.30pm until 9.45pm and has a varied programme of activities and topics for 12-16 year olds.
The Senior Section for 17/18 year olds runs from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
The Company has a dedicated band of committed officers who work hard across all sections to deliver an interesting and fun programme of events that seeks to challenge the boys.
The Boys Brigade currently has a recruiting drive on for Officers and Volunteers. If you would be interested in volunteering, see any of the Pastors or the officers.
